Pastor Joel Tucker
Senior Pastor Joel Tucker was called as Associate Pastor at Tropical Sands in March 2001 and as Senior Pastor in January 2006. Pastor Joel led the church through significant growth and program expansion, spearheading the church's Recovery program and the emphasizing full coverage in its youth programming.
Pastor Joel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Auburn University and is currently enrolled in Lexington Theological Seminary. His ministry career follows successful stints as a writer, webmaster and computer programmer for Fortune 500 firms.
Pastor Joel and his wife, Nancy, have been married since 1980. They have two adult children, Jason and Traci, and two grandchildren. In worship, Pastor Joel plays saxophone, standup bass, ukulele, ocarina, recorder and concertina.

Intern Ministry Associate Christine Helderman
On the recommendation of the church Board of Elders, the Tropical Sands Governing Board has called Chris Helderman in September 2014 to serve as an Intern Ministry Associate at Tropical Sands Christian Church.
Chris earned her Master of Science degree in nutrition at the University of Florida. She has 20 years’ experience as a health and wellness consultant, specializing in behavior management.
Currently she is earning a Master of Divinity degree at Lexington Theological Seminary.
“Chris also works as a Ministry Intern at Jupiter First Church,” says Senior Pastor Joel Tucker.
“This cooperative arrangement with Jupiter First gives Chris access to the Florida Region's standing and oversight leading to ordination in the Disciples of Christ. It also gives Tropical Sands and the Florida Regional Church access to her unique ministerial talents.”
