At Tropical Sands Christian Church, we drink A LOT of coffee! 

      We support our Equal Exchange Coffee program because it’s an easy way to practice Christian love through an ongoing hospitality expense. Yes, it does cost more – but the bulk of the profits goes to the growers and harvesters, who by and large live difficult lives. 

      Unfortunately, most of the world’s coffee growing regions are also great places to grow coca, opium and marijuana, which simply fuels our nation’s addiction to drugs. The Equal Exchange Coffee program helps farmers in those regions make an honest living. It also gives us a guilt-free cup of coffee that doesn't call for forced labor or sub-standard compensation. 

      A portion of the proceeds goes to Week of Compassion, a Disciples-centered world outreach program that we support on an ongoing basis. And if you need another reason to support the program, it’s also GREAT, ORGANIC coffee!

      I urge my fellow coffee drinkers to drop a little more cash in the jar to cover the added cost of Equal Exchange Coffee. It isn’t often we get to treat ourselves to a great cup of coffee while treating farmers overseas with dignity and respect. It’s an easy way to Profess Faith, Proclaim Hope and Practice Love!
